London: A Playground For Kids!
By Editor | | No Comments

Full of action and adventure, London is perfect for a family break-away. With plenty of kid-friendly museums, restaurants, and hotels, your little ones will be so tired-out after a fun-filled day that you’ll be able to relax and appreciate your London nights in peace and quiet, enjoying the best of both worlds.

Although one of the most expensive cities in the world, when it comes to kids, London can be pretty cheap. There are plenty of museums where kids can get in free. And although the word ‘museum’ will have them yawning in anticipation of boredom, these museums are really well catered for active and inquisitive kids.

The Science Museum, for example, is free admission for all and doesn’t disappoint. With a 3D cinema, a special effects simulator, and plenty of hands-on interactive games and applications, you’ll be just as occupied as the kids! Similarly, the Natural History museum is completely free, and with its extraordinary display of dinosaurs and sea creatures, it’ll keep your family fascinated for hours.

To keep them active and lively, check out the Diana Memorial Playground. For kids up to the age of 12, this playground includes a giant swing, a sea monster sculpture, and even a huge wooden pirate ship in the sand which will kick your kids’ imaginations into over-drive!

Everyone knows London has some amazing historical sights, but how about doing some sight-seeing with a twist? The Thames Rib Experience involves an hour-long high-speed boat ride down the famous river Thames, encompassing views of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the Tower of London on the way. A thrilling and exhilarating ride for all the family, this is the only way to see the sights of London.

Home to more than 600 animal species, London Zoo is worth a whole day visit. Its new attraction – Rainforest life – will transport you from the bustling capital city into an untouched, wild, and lush tropical rainforest. Surrounded by red titi monkeys, gold lion tamarins, and sloths, your little ones will be gasping in amazement at every turn.

After all of that excitement, you’ll need to make sure your kids get a tasty meal. How about carrying on the fun and games by taking them to the Rainforest Café in the west end? This jungle-themed café is reasonably priced, and offers some delicious treats all whilst sitting amongst life-like alligators and tropical trees.

With so much to do, see, and learn in London, it really is the perfect place for the whole family. And, of course, don’t leave the city without letting the kids pick up a souvenir. Check out Regent Street for the most famous toy store in England, Hamleys. With seven packed and fun-filled floors of toys to explore, you’ll have a hard task trying to get your kids to leave!
